SCOPE OF ROLE

This role will provide oversight over bank, cash clearing, payroll and other account reconciliation functions. This role will also assist in monthly accounting and close processes related to these accounts and possibly certain other accruals.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

The Accounting Supervisor job description is intended to point out major responsibilities within the role, but it is not limited to these items.

  • Ensure that monthly close tasks are completed and accurately
  • Timely review and correction of cash clearing/suspense related items with other team members
  • Entry and/or approval of payroll and other related accounting
  • Provide guidance to staff in their execution of reconciliation and other responsibilities.
  • Supervise monthly bank reconciliation processes.
  • Coordinate and provide support to auditors as needed.
  • Miscellaneous tasks related to management of bank and other reconciliation processes

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position will have supervisory responsibilities for one staff member.

EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • Two or more years of experience in accounting areas relevant to role responsibilities (Required)
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance (Preferred)
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word, and Adobe Acrobat (Required)
  • One or more years’ experience in Oracle general ledger software (Required)
  • Knowledge of GAAP and/or SAP (Required)

PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCIES

  • Strong collaboration skills to effectively work with internal and external teams to effectively design solutions that meet the business needs (Required)
  • Effective communication skills including verbal and written (Required)

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The majority of work responsibilities are performed in an open office setting, carrying out detailed work sitting at a desk/table and working on the computer. Some travel may be required.
