The Head of Clinical Partnerships will oversee the strategy and execution of formal and informal agreements between UnifiHealth and the clinical community. Traditional job descriptions might be titled “Provider Network Development” or “Network Contracting”. While you should have experience dealing directly with today’s health system constraints, you aren’t afraid to challenge the status quo with something new and then make it a reality. You should have a perspective on how companies with unique healthcare data capabilities can and should add value back to the care community. You might question why “networks” exist in the first place, and are excited to rethink how they can be retooled to help who matters most – the patient.

What You’ll Do:

  • Build relationships and implement payer contracts with provider organizations, from independent multi-specialty groups and ASCs to urgent care chains and regional health systems
  • Expand the UnifiHealth provider contracting strategy with company leadership, and turn this strategy into reality through strategic diligence, outreach, contract negotiation and execution
  • Create and execute on novel network design strategies, including risk sharing agreements, direct contracts, and reference-based pricing, among others, to replace traditional contract structures
  • Help develop innovative purchasing models (bundles, global risk) and work with reinsurance partners to incorporate value added models to underwriting 
  • Partner with Sales and Marketing teams to develop network in concert with member growth, ensuring network adequacy and coverage, and to efficiently scale the business
  • Create best practices and contracting norms to carry into future geographies
  • Build and lead provider network team responsible for managing provider relationships, maintaining network agreements, credentialing, and provider directories
  • Work with clinic partners to develop high-value referral models that incorporate cost, quality, and efficiency
  • Work with Product and Operations teams to support integration with clinical partners and help create a simple and effective member experience

As the Head of Clinical Partnerships, you should have:

  • 5+ years’ experience in network development, network management, or contracting, with specific experience in executing and implementing payer-provider contracts or partnerships or related experience selling solutions to large provider systems
  • Sat opposite provider executives and sold them on a new product, partnership, or related initiative and motivated action on something new
  • The ability to open doors and build rapport with physician and administrative leadership
  • Familiarity with direct primary care and reference-based pricing
  • Have worked directly with hospital executives, particularly CFOs or senior members of the finance organization
  • The ability to run a business development process, including pipeline development and analytics
  • Comfortability with CRM and Engagement tools   
  • Have a passion for improving healthcare delivery
  • Thrive in the ambiguity that can come with an early-stage startup – you should expect to do things not included in this job description
  • Have experience in Ohio or other nearby Midwestern states (not required)
