Overview of Role:
As a Clinical Supervisor, you will play an integral role in scaling access to high-quality mental health services and suicide care to Vita Health patients nationwide.You will maintain a small clinical caseload while also providing clinical supervision, coaching, training, and management to a team of clinicians.
Supervisors have primary responsibility for managing their team to key performance indicators, monitoring productivity, clinical quality, and overall effectiveness. Supervisors are leaders in our company and are an integral part of driving success and impact within clinical operations by operationalizing policy, procedure, and ensuring standards and protocols are being followed. Supervisors are also part of our wider management team and will help shape our organizational priorities year over year. The supervisor is clinically astute and experienced at both delivering and overseeing evidence based treatment for common mental health needs in a telehealth setting. Communication capabilities include being direct, clear, collaborative, and focused on the development of the clinician, offering specific and clear performance feedback such that behavior change occurs. As leaders, supervisors are instrumental in creating a positive culture of learning, accountability, and collaboration on their team and across the organization. As a result, patients experience excellence in service delivery, healing from mental health issues, and an improved quality of life.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, or other Behavioral Science degree and Independent Level Licensure (LICSW/LCSW, LPC, LMHC, LMFT)
- Hold a supervisory credential, preferred
- NY, CT license preferred
- 5+ years of independent licensure and direct clinical practice experience
- 1-3 years of clinical supervisory experience highly preferred or other management experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, 1:1 and in groups
- Experience with delivering care with very acute patients, adolescent and young adult mental health
- Demonstrated ability to clinically supervise and mentor others
- Ability to independently complete tasks assigned, organized, takes initiative
- Confidence and professionalism while leading difficult conversations and addressing performance concerns
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the clinical supervisor for up to 15 direct reports (teams are a mix of full-time and part-time W2 employees and 1099 contractors) providing monthly team meetings, group consultation/supervision, individual supervision, and coaching/mentoring
- Accountable to monitor team performance to key performance indicators and address gaps in performance swiftly resulting in improvements
- Interview/screen/provide input on selection of clinician candidates; assist with onboarding of new hires and training on systems and processes
- Conduct regular chart audits to ensure documentation standards are met, risk assessments and other screeners are present, and appropriate treatment plans are in place
- Identify challenges that may be blocking success and deliver feedback and coaching that drives improvement.
- Sit on quality assurance committee and lead quality initiatives at a team level
- Monitor clinician schedule and caseloads ensuring consistent care is being delivered to patients and efficiency metrics are being met
- Create a tone of learning and improvement that inspires clinicians to grow and expand their clinical expertise
- Ensure effective delivery of empathic, trauma informed, evidence based treatment protocols and interventions for patients suffering with behavioral health needs and disorders
- Monitor crisis and risk and manage safety concerns that arise with highly acute patients including those in suicide care
- Use data, reports, and dashboards on a daily basis to monitor performance and understand patterns and themes in service delivery
- Facilitate learning sessions/ group case consultations focused on serving high acuity patients
- Interact with patients and parents to proactively resolve quality concerns, reassignments, etc
- Provide effective supervision, supervision notes, written and verbal feedback, evaluations, and performance plans that foster growth and improvement
- Collaborate with other department leaders and contributors to facilitate organizational success
- Lead and be the type of leader/ manager that you would want to work for
- Be willing to be cross licensed in multiple states and provide up to 15 hours of completed therapy sessions per week to your own caseload of patients
What Success Looks Like:
- Management and oversight of day-to-day operations and troubleshooting with direct reports
- High performing and engaged direct reports who are meeting key metrics
- Clear understanding of the big picture and delivering work that supports strategic initiatives on the clinical team
- Actively engaged in team education, training, and skill development
- Comfort and experience navigating electronic health record and excel and data reports, dashboards, and software tools in a remote environment - able to problem solve
- Analytic capabilities when monitoring performance
- Willingness to obtain clinical licensure in additional states and deliver care
- Prior experience delivering care via telehealth required
- Strong emotional intelligence when working with others, empathy and professionalism
Compensation: $80k - $95k, with 10% bonus opportunity
Actual Compensation is determined by factors such as experience level, evidence based certifications, licensures, language proficiency etc.
