About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on Data Engineer to help build and maintain the data foundation and semantic layer for our Customer Success organization. This role will focus on designing clean, reliable data pipelines and automations that power our downstream ingestion by different tools like Tableau and Gainsight.

You’ll work closely with the CS Operations and Analytics teams to unify data from multiple systems (BigQuery, Salesforce, Gainsight, and others) into a single, trusted source of truth. This is a high-impact role that will shape how we use data to drive customer outcomes and internal decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Data Architecture & Infrastructure

  • Design, maintain, and optimize a clean, well-structured data architecture in BigQuery to support analytics, automation, and business intelligence.
  • Build and manage ETL/ELT pipelines between BigQuery, Salesforce, Gainsight, and other systems for seamless, scalable data flow.
  • Set up and manage GCP infrastructure, including Cloud Storage buckets, triggers, and scheduled workflows, to automate ingestion and transformation.
  • Create and maintain data models and standardized tables in BigQuery to support analytical needs across the Customer Success organization.
  • Document data architecture, pipelines, and automation workflows to ensure maintainability and reproducibility.

Automation & Integration

  • Implement process automations (e.g., alerts, email triggers, Slack notifications) based on data thresholds or business events.
  • Build and maintain bi-directional syncs between systems (e.g., BigQuery ↔ Salesforce) using APIs or workflow tools such as Workato, Zapier, or custom Python scripts.
  • Partner with the analytics team to ensure efficient data delivery and optimal Tableau dashboard performance.

Collaboration & Governance

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Customer Success, Product, Finance, and Sales to align on data definitions, access, and governance standards.
  • Proactively identify data quality issues, redundancies, or inefficiencies, and lead remediation efforts to maintain data integrity.
  • Work closely with Edison, Sri, and Becca to prioritize and deliver key data initiatives that enhance visibility into client and business performance.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or data operations roles.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and experience managing large datasets in BigQuery (or similar cloud data warehouses).
  • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, IAM, scheduling, automation triggers).
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce data structures and APIs; experience integrating Salesforce or Gainsight with data warehouses is a strong plus.
  • Experience with ETL/ELT tools (e.g., dbt, Airflow, Fivetran) and scripting languages such as Python for data transformation and automation.
  • Familiarity with Tableau (or similar BI tools) to support analytics teams with optimized, trusted data sources.
