Somatus is seeking a detail-oriented IT Asset Administrator to manage and support the full lifecycle of IT and related assets across the organization. This role is responsible for accurate tracking, inventory control, deployment coordination, end-user device provision, troubleshooting, auditing, and reporting of IT assets to ensure compliance, efficiency, and operational readiness in a healthcare-focused environment. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, hands-on technical experience, and a passion for maintaining accurate asset data while supporting end users and IT operations.


Responsibilities

IT Asset Lifecycle Management

  • Track, account for, and maintain accurate records of all IT and related assets throughout their lifecycle.
  • Ensure that all assets are accurately recorded in the IT Asset Management (ITAM) system, including serial numbers, location, and assigned user data.
  • Conduct regular audits and physical inventories to validate asset accuracy and inventory levels.

Asset Deployment & Logistics

  • Process requests for IT hardware and assist with deployment to the user community.
  • Track hardware location changes and ensure assets remain accurately accounted for.
  • Process incoming shipments of IT equipment and maintain organized IT storage areas.
  • Coordinate the return, pickup, and proper disposition of surplus or unused IT hardware.
  • Prepare assets for retirement, disposal, or reuse in accordance with company and compliance standards.

Technical Support & Equipment Management

  • Image and configure new desktops and laptops.
  • Coordinate desktop and laptop repairs with approved vendors.

Reporting & Continuous Improvement

  • Analyze inventory data and prepare reports related to asset usage, lifecycle status, and inventory trends.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of current technology, tools, and industry trends relevant to IT asset management and end-user computing.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 4-5 years of experience in IT asset management and inventory management.
  • At least 3-4 years of hands-on experience supporting, installing, troubleshooting, testing, diagnosing, repairing, and replacing computer and peripheral equipment.
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree or higher from an accredited college preferred.
  • Knowledge of tools and equipment used to test and repair computer hardware.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across multiple aspects of technical support.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting mobile devices across Android, Windows, and iOS platforms.
  • Relevant vendor certifications such as Apple, Microsoft, Cisco, or similar.
  • Experience working in a healthcare or regulated environment.
  • Familiarity with ITAM tools, ticketing systems, and asset reporting.
