Doula Services Coordinator
Memphis, TN, USA
About Us:
The United States has the poorest maternal and birth outcomes of all developed countries with the underserved, Black, Brown, Indigenous communities disproportionately affected. Nadia Care is working to drastically change the experience of affected communities by reimagining how we deliver meaningful and compassionate care to expectant moms.
Nadia Care’s mission is to improve pregnancy, birth and the postpartum journey for women and their families by reimagining how maternity care is delivered. Our team is focused on building trust-based engagement and wrap-around support for expectant moms at home, in person and virtually to ensure they have all the social support they need for a successful and joyful pregnancy journey. We help our members with care navigation, doula support, assistance with lactation, nutrition, housing, transportation and a wide range of other needs. We leverage technology to support our virtual engagement that allows us to meet all our moms where they are.
We ensure that our members have trusted sources for support, resources, and information throughout their pregnancy, delivery and well into postpartum. Nadia Care does not replace the primary obstetrician or doctor’s relationships. Instead, we support expectant mothers with all other health-related social needs not typically available through their doctors’ offices.
Our Values:
- Empathy is at the heart of everything we do. We must always center the experiences of the mothers and families we serve, as well as support and uplift one another.
- Collaboration is what makes us stronger. We achieve the greatest impact when we work together, share knowledge, and elevate each other’s strengths.
- Resilience reflects our ability to push through challenges, adapt in a fast-changing environment, and remain committed to our mission no matter the obstacles.
The Role:
The Doula Services Coordinator is the person who makes that program work day to day. This role sits at the intersection of member care and collective partnership, owning the operational thread that connects a member’s birth support enrollment to a doula showing up, present and prepared, when labor begins. Internally, this person is a core member of the Care Delivery team: coordinating with Maternity Navigators, the Care Coordinator, and the on-call RN to ensure birth support is seamlessly integrated into the member’s care journey. They are Nadia Care’s face to our regional doula collective partners, the accountability point for doula readiness, visit completion, and coverage reliability.
This is a hourly position based in our TN market that carries an on-call expectation outside standard business hours to manage live labor logistics.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate Member Birth Support
- Match members with a primary and backup doula, ensuring support is in place before the third trimester.
- Guide members through birth support enrollment, onboarding, and expectations for prenatal, labor, and postpartum care.
- Serve as the primary contact for birth support logistics, resolving questions and ensuring members feel supported throughout their pregnancy journey.
Manage Labor Coverage & Doula Readiness
- Oversee labor activation and real-time coverage when members go into labor, ensuring timely doula response and backup coverage when needed.
- Maintain delivery forecasts, monitor upcoming due dates, and proactively address coverage risks before they impact members.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to support labor events outside standard business hours.
Support Doula Performance & Program Operations
- Track visit completion, labor attendance, documentation, and follow-up activities across assigned doula-member partnerships.
- Coordinate smooth handoffs when backup doulas are needed and ensure accurate documentation of care.
- Identify and escalate performance, availability, or compliance concerns while helping maintain a high-quality member experience.
Partner with Doula Collectives
- Serve as the day-to-day liaison for regional doula collective partners, building collaborative and accountable relationships.
- Coordinate doula onboarding, training, availability tracking, and readiness across Nadia Care systems and workflows.
- Communicate program updates, operational changes, and coverage needs to ensure reliable service delivery.
Monitor Capacity, Credentialing & Care Team Coordination
- Maintain accurate assignment, panel, credentialing, and availability records to support program growth and coverage planning.
- Partner closely with Maternity Navigators, Care Coordinators, nurses, and operational leaders to ensure seamless member care.
- Contribute to reporting, process improvement, and operational planning as the doula program scales.
Qualifications
- Deep understanding of the prenatal, labor, and postpartum care cadence. While a doula certification or training is a strong plus, firsthand experience working within maternal health, midwifery, or community birth networks is highly valued.
- 1–3+ years of experience in care coordination, maternal health, community health, or a related field; experience working with doulas, birth workers, or community-based care networks is a plus.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple members, doulas, schedules, and timelines simultaneously.
- Comfort with an on-call environment and the flexibility to respond when labor support needs arise outside traditional business hours.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across care teams, members, and community partners while balancing accountability with trust.
- Experience using care coordination, scheduling, or healthcare technology platforms; familiarity with EHR documentation and tools such as Athena, Spruce, Acuity, Slack, and Google Workspace is preferred.
- Clear and thoughtful written communication skills, with the ability to create messages, guidance, and documentation that are easy for others to understand and use.
- Bilingual English/Spanish language skills are a plus.
This is a full-time hourly position with a pay range between $26-$28/hr. Exact compensation will depend on years of direct relevant experience.
