Head of Neurology

Our Company

At Isaac Health, we’re on a mission to improve brain health at the population level by providing greater access to specialty brain health and dementia care services for all. We believe that everyone everywhere deserves to get the care they need, and are striving to make care convenient and accessible while tackling the stigmas that surround brain health conditions.

Since launching in 2022, Isaac Health has scaled to provide brain health and dementia care services to more patients and families across the US. With support from leading healthcare investors, and impactful leaders like you, we’ll continue to provide high-quality patient-centered care for the evaluation and management of brain health conditions and deliver exceptional patient and family outcomes for years to come. With a heavy focus on clinical quality and safety in all that we do, we’ve accomplished excellent outcomes for our patients:

  • 92% of patients report an improvement against their cognitive goals in only 3 weeks after working with Isaac Health.
  • 73% of patients or their care partners continue to report improvement in neurocognitive symptoms after 6 months.
  • 70% of patients remain engaged with Isaac Health after 6 months.

This is just the beginning for Isaac Health, and we won’t stop building, growing, and iterating until everyone, everywhere can access high-quality, evidence-based brain health and dementia care without high costs or long wait times. To learn more, visit www.myisaachealth.com.

The Role

Isaac Health is hiring a board-certified neurologist to lead its neurology practice nationally. The Head of Neurology is the clinical leader our clinicians turn to every day: the supervising physician for our neurology advanced practice providers and neuropsychology team in every state we serve, the neurologist our geriatricians and other clinicians call for a same-day case review, and the person accountable for the performance of the neurology team and the clinical outcomes of our patients. You will report to the Chief Medical Officer and lead the neurologists, geriatricians, and advanced practice providers, and neuropsychology team leadership directly.

The role is built around availability. You will keep a protected block of time each week for direct patient care and spend the rest supervising, teaching, reviewing, and deciding. You will run the neurology practice on your own authority.

We are a startup. The team is lean, the systems are still evolving, and the practice will change under your feet more than once. If that sounds like the environment where you do your best work, keep reading.

Because we practice in every state, this role requires licensure in every state we serve. You do not need to hold those licenses today. You do need to be eligible for the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact, to have your Letter of Qualification in hand before you start, and to keep every license and certification in good standing for as long as you are here. Isaac Health pays for all of it. Licenses already held in New York, California, or other non-compact states are a real advantage.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the neurology clinical team, including neurologists, geriatricians, advanced practice providers, and neuropsychology team, with accountability for their performance and development.
  • Serve as a collaborating and supervising physician for our neurology advanced practice providers across all states.
  • Provide same-day clinical support to clinicians across the practice: debriefs, case reviews, and the decisions that shape a patient’s next step.
  • Set and uphold neurology clinical standards, protocols, and scope of practice.
  • Own the clinical outcomes of the neurology service line.
  • Teach: teach from one-on-one to large group settings excellently in structured and unstructured formats.
  • Keep the team productive, motivated, and clear about what excellence looks like.
  • Maintain a protected weekly block of direct patient care, with flexibility to provide additional coverage.
  • Share a low-volume physician on-call rotation.

Who You Are

Required

  • MD or DO with an active, unrestricted license in good standing; current ABPN board certification in Neurology.
  • Eligible for the Interstate Medical Licensure Compact, with a Letter of Qualification obtained before your start date.
  • Deep experience with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, including amyloid-targeting therapies.
  • Comfortable practicing comprehensive general neurology.
  • Demonstrated clinical leadership: supervising advanced practice providers, mentoring clinicians, and holding a team to clinical standards.
  • Experienced in telehealth delivery and remote supervision.
  • An exceptional colleague: the interpersonal skill to lead a clinical team well, the professionalism expected of a senior physician, and the accountability to own results.
  • Strong teaching and educational skills.
  • Able to work independently and reliably.
  • At home in a startup environment.

Preferred

  • Four or more years leading physicians and advanced practice providers. We care about what you have done more than the count.
  • Current licensure in New York, California, or other non-compact states.
  • UCNS certification in Behavioral Neurology and Neuropsychiatry.
  • Strong foundations in practice management and an instinct for what makes operational, financial, and clinical sense at once.
  • Experience in value-based care, disease management, or population health for older adults.
  • Background in clinical operations, implementation, quality and safety, or high-reliability practice.
  • Strong public speaking skills.
  • Based in New York City. We strongly prefer a leader who can spend regular in-person time with our executive team; candidates elsewhere should expect to be with us in New York at least quarterly.

What We Offer

  • Base salary for full time employment, plus equity and benefits. Base salary consideration will be made for experience, training, leadership track record, licensure position, and other factors.
  • Stock options under our equity compensation plan, with a choice between an equity-forward and a salary-forward structure. This is a leadership role in a company that is still early; the equity is meant to matter, and we will show you the math.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance; 401(k).
  • Flexible paid time off and CME reimbursement.
  • All state licensure, renewals, compact, DEA, and certification fees paid by Isaac Health.
  • A purpose-built, data-enabled EMR and a clinical operations team that removes administrative work from clinicians rather than adding it.
  • A seat at the table for strategic decisions about how brain health care is delivered nationally.

Start date: Immediate, upon completion of credentialing and licensure prerequisites. We are filling this role now.
