How you will help

As a Lead Analyst, Real World Data (RWD) Insights you will serve as a strategic partner to clients and internal teams, leveraging deep expertise in healthcare data analytics to drive complex, high-impact real-world data (RWD) solutions. You will take a leadership role in client engagements, shaping the direction of RWD-driven research by translating business and regulatory needs into sophisticated analytical frameworks. Working cross-functionally, you will guide clients in identifying optimal data sources from the HealthVerity Marketplace (HVM), and ensuring the feasibility and integrity. Additionally, you will mentor and collaborate with colleagues to enhance analytical methodologies, optimize data strategies, and contribute to the continued evolution of industry-leading RWD insights.

What you will do

  • Efficiently query multiple data types (medical and pharmacy claims, EMR, lab, chargemaster) with strong proficiency in SQL to identify patient populations and assess using univariate analysis and data investigations
  • Collaborate and consult with external stakeholders and provide strategic expertise on data assets that will support client’s research questions
  • Lead client trainings, including standardizing analytic guidance, and documenting use case support in the post-sale phase
  • Work cross-functionally with sales and data delivery teams to drive operational processes and support best practices to deliver data licensing projects on time and with accuracy
  • Lead the development and maintenance of internal documentation, code templates, analytics automation, and other process improvement initiatives to support internal team efficiency, effectiveness, and growth
  • Mentor team members, focusing on improvement initiatives, collaboration and innovation

How success will be defined

  • Creatively and strategically position HealthVerity to win against the competition by building trust and credibility as a subject matter expert (SME)
  • Take end-to-end ownership of data solutioning projects and drive to completion
  • Dedicate 5-10% of working hours to team and individual improvement
  • Ensure minimal errors in presales feasibility and data requirements for delivery

Required skills and experience

  • Graduate degree in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Clinical Informatics, or related field
  • At least 4 years customer-facing experience working through client solutioning/scoping and escalations
  • At least 6 years experience using SQL, programming against large relational databases leveraging interoperably-linked, patient-level data at scale
  • Healthcare data expert across various data types (e.g. open/closed claims, inpatient/ambulatory EMR, commercial labs, social determinants, etc.) and codified healthcare data standards (e.g. ICD, CPT, HCPCS, CVX, LOINC, NUCC, NPPES, etc.)
  • Experience evaluating fit-for-purpose data and implementing research protocols
  • Experience applying RWD to specific healthcare and life sciences-related research questions and use cases, such as RWE/epidemiology, HEOR, R&D, commercial, public health
  • Direct experience working with teams with life science organizations (e.g., HEOR, medical affairs, commercial)
  • Strong client-facing skills with demonstrated success in building relationships in the healthcare analytics space

  • Exposure to a wide range of healthcare industry business segments (pharma, biotech, government, consulting, healthcare payer/provider)
  • Evangelist and champion of RWD/RWE
  • Skilled at educating, presenting, and demonstrating analytical concepts to internal and external audiences
  • Strong communicator (both verbally and in writing) with the ability to translate client needs into actionable data insights
  • Experience supporting business development activities
  • Experience owning and managing projects with the ability to identify and mitigate risk to intended outcomes
  • Team player who takes initiative and works collaboratively with colleagues across all levels of the organization
  • Highly organized, consultative, and proactive critical thinker/problem solver

Base salary for the role is commensurate with experience and can range between $80,000 - 170,000 + annual bonus opportunity.

Hiring Locations

Our main office is located in Center City, Philadelphia, where we operate on a hybrid model with in-office work required three days a week for local employees. We believe collaboration is most effective when teams come together, which is why we prioritize hiring in the Philadelphia area.

For certain roles, we also hire from hub locations—regions where we have an established presence with multiple team members working remotely. While these employees primarily work from home, we bring them together in person at lease once a year for team-building, collaboration, and strategic planning.

Due to tax and labor regulations, we can only hire from specific states. Remote work is supported in the following key hub locations and approved states:
