Opportunity Overview: Sr. Mgr / Payroll Administrator

The Payroll Administrator will be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll operations for all employees across the IT and healthcare divisions of the company. This role ensures accurate and timely salary processing, statutory compliance, and adherence to company policies and Indian labour laws. The candidate will act as the primary point of contact for payroll queries, audits, and compliance filings.

What you’ll do:

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Management

  • Process monthly payroll for all employees (on-roll, contractual, and consultants) accurately and within deadlines
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, salary revisions, and transfers.
  • Coordinate with HR, Finance, and department heads to collect attendance, leave, and variable pay inputs.
  • Ensure correct computation of earnings, deductions (PF, ESI, PT, TDS), bonuses, and reimbursements.
  • Reconcile payroll accounts with financial systems and ensure accurate reporting.

Compliance & Statutory Filings

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable labour laws and statutory requirements including:
    PF (Provident Fund), ESI (Employee State Insurance), Professional Tax (PT), TDS on Salary, Labour Welfare Fund (LWF), Gratuity, Shops & Establishment Act, and other regional laws
  • File monthly, quarterly, and annual returns with respective government bodies.
  • Handle inspections, audits, and queries from statutory authorities.
  • Keep track of changes in legislation and ensure timely implementation.

Employee Support & Coordination

  • Address employee queries related to salary, tax, deductions, and payslips.
  • Coordinate with finance for reimbursement claims, full & final settlements, and expense processing.
  • Manage payroll-related documentation and maintain confidentiality of employee data.

Systems & Process Improvement

  • Maintain and update HRMS/payroll software.
  • Generate payroll MIS reports and analytics for management.
  • Identify opportunities for process automation and efficiency improvements.

Required Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, HR, or related field.
  • Additional certification in Payroll Management, Labour Laws, or HR Operations preferred.

Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in payroll administration, preferably in IT, healthcare, or service industries.
  • Excellent understanding and experience with HRMS/payroll software.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of Indian payroll and statutory compliance.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and payroll analytics.
  • Excellent attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet strict deadlines.

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Nacharam, Hyderabad, Telangana: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
