We're seeking a highly motivated Director, Financial Controller to oversee our accounting operations and provide insightful financial analysis. In this pivotal role, you will maintain robust financial systems, drive efficiency, and ensure compliance. You will lead the development of financial reports and dashboards, manage revenue recognition, oversee general accounting functions, and play a key role in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. You will also manage our payroll processes and work closely with external auditors.

WHAT IS YOUR SUPERPOWER?

  • Maintains, assesses, and improves a documented system of proper accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk and makes recommendations for improvements
  • Oversees training programs for expense reporting system and identifies training needs
  • Maintains and updates the expense reporting policy
  • Oversees and executes on the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or international financial reporting standards. Evaluates financial information and builds reporting dashboards that facilitate the understanding of real time results and variances to goal.
  • Manages and assists in the development and improvement of processes for the recognizing and accruing variable revenue streams from multiple payors; including fee for service, quality performance and value-based payments
  • Manages and assists in the accurate and timely performance of the general accounting functions, including: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, monthly close, and taxes (assist outsourced tax vendor)
  • Recommends benchmarks that will be used to measure the company’s performance
  • Produces the annual budget and forecasts; reports significant budget differences to management. Helps incorporate projections and targets into reporting dashboards
  • Provides financial analysis, with emphasis on capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract negotiations
  • Leads the administration of third-party payroll provider services
  • Works with auditors and provides needed information for an annual audit
  • Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements
  • Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned

WHAT WE ARE SEEKING:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration required
  • Ten years or more of related experience required
  • Proven track record of working collaboratively with stakeholders across the organization.
  • Experience with a fast-paced, continuously improving and growing company
  • Ability to shape a new role and work independently; results driven
  • Strong written and oral presentation; can effectively influence decision-making
  • Knowledge of Business Central (Dynamics365), Lookr preferred
  • Knowledge of ADP Workforce Now Payroll
  • Excellent management and supervisory skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication, organizational, and time management skills
  • Proficient in accounting and tax preparation software
  • Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant designation preferred
  • Knowledge of the healthcare industry preferred, ideally with understanding of primary care MSO-PC structure, physician practice revenue reconciliation, value-based payment models, Medicare Advantage plans.
